The
Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Chairman, Capital Development
Authority (CDA) Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and mobile
companies through the installation of cell phone towers in residential areas
and the suspension of negotiations for a period of one week.
Three
members of the top court bench headed by Justice Nasir -ul - Mulk, negotiations
continued on Sahibzada Yaqoob Khan Petition against CDA over the licensing of
the mobile company to install the mobile towers in residential areas.
During
the proceedings, Raja Muhammad Bashir Council for the petitioner appeared
before the bench and appraised that the CDA permit to pocket a company that is
dangerous to the health of citizens. He said that the rays from mobile towers
were seriously damaged human health. He said that the business and these towers
should be installed at places of business instead of residential areas. Later,
the court adjourned the hearing after issuance of the notice of the
respondents.
