With the successful conclusion 0f the auction
of 3G/4G in Pakistan, the country is now ready to a new era of
telecommunications services into force.
Wateen CEO Naeem Zamindar announced that Wateen
is fully geared to meet the high demands of the Backhaul newly arrived next
generation mobile networks ( NGMN ) to meet with the largest underground
operation fiber in place .
With the latest data services soon to hit the
market, Wateen network is ideally positioned to meet the data requirements of
all NGMNs. In anticipation of the NGMNs rollout, the company is replacing
copper wire cable with a fiber optic network - traversing over 4500 kilometers
in more than 50 cities - for the base station (BTS) sites mobile operators such
as Zong.
Lately, the conversion has taken on glass fiber
cable up pace and even mobile companies have access to fiber connected
networks, the possibility of real 3G/4G technology is truly viable.
He explained that Wateen network is for saving
the available spectrum for mobile operators of the next generation for high
data consumption for stationary subscribers and free the new frequency for
"mobile” subscribers available. With regard to the provision of telecom
customer’s better and faster data services has already entered into an
agreement with Hawaii together with Qubee its network infrastructure upgrade to
4G LTE support Wateen Telecom.
Wateen Telecom Marketing GM Sohaib Sheikh said
that the main focus of the company is the most responsive network in the
country. With the advent of 3G and 4G services , mobile operators will start
witnesses added load on their networks and Wateen has many solutions to benefit
the entire telecom industry .
Addressing the Pakistani government and the
Pakistani Telecommunications Authority, Sheikh praised the government and all
those involved for the completion of the auction in a transparent process.
The government's efforts are exactly in line
with the need to project Pakistan as a telecommunications hub for the entire
regi0n. He believed that this would be the first step, and in the future the
government will use the full national potential to serve as a regional market
leader in the telecommunications sector and enable the country.
