Governance Forum 2014 will be organized on Wednesday (May 14) to provide a
platform for
Various
interested parties to make significant efforts in creating this modern
mechanism in the public sector.
Ministry
of Information Technology and Telecommunications has made all the arrangements
to organize an event where participants share different measures and best
practices on this topic.
Federal
and state ministers, parliamentary secretaries, secretaries, secretaries and
also the contact person e - Office Suite is expected to attend the forum. An
official at the ministry said on Monday that the forum aims to share
experiences with roll -out e - office at the Ministry of IT, Secretariat of the
National Assembly and the Prime Minister Office and discuss and facilitate future
directions for public policy.

Another
aim is to strengthen cooperation and develop inter- working arrangements
between all federal ministries and divisions. He said that e -government has
great potential to increase the overall efficiency of the public
administration, increase transparency and reduce corruption, improve citizen
access to services and strengthen their participation in the process of
democratic governance.
The
official said the Minister for IT; Ms. Anusha Rehman has adopted several
initiatives to raise standards of e -government and to launch specific
applications, office automation through various e-government projects. He said
that the ministry will monitor the implementation of an e -government
application called “E - Office Suite" in the Federal space. The suite
consists of six modules, including e –filing.
The
module with the main objective to promote less paper and digital government.
The
official said Suite will be implemented in phases and is expected to be
completed by the end of this year.
