ImportanceOf Information Technology in Pakistan: - The
Ministry of Finance has made it clear winning the telecos 3G/4G auction, they
pay 10% of advance tax. After the second round of negotiations in the Ministry
of Finance, telecommunications companies have come under extreme pressure.
The
Ministry of Finance is pushing telcos to pay 10% of advance tax for 3G/4G
auction. Firms initially expressed strong reservations on this issue because
they were not reported in the Information Memorandum issued prior to the auction.
There
were two meetings in the Ministry of Finance and the third will be held on
Wedensday. This meeting saw the telcos are asking about pre- payment of taxes
and how it will be regulated in future payments.
Thanks
to this development, it seems that licensing will be held on 17 May, which is
celebrated as World Telecommunication Day. It is expected that this issue will
be resolved before May 22 , as mentioned in the chat that licenses will be
distributed within one month after the end of the auction after paying 50 % of
the bids.
It is
worth to write here that there are differences between successful companies
bidding on things given. Sources say TelecoAlert.com that some companies are
considering legal action against the PTA and consult lawyers as well.
