Facebook
on Wednesday started pushing Smartphone chats between friends to a stand-alone
Messenger application
The
move to make parts of the world's leading online social network resort to
Messenger for content trades progressing comes soon after the Facebook outlined
a strategy to concentrate on particular "applications" for Smartphones
and tablets. "Today we are beginning to advise people that the messages
are moving out of the Facebook application and over to the Messenger
application," Facebook said in an email reaction to an AFP request.
"To
keep sending messages to mobile, people will need to introduce the Messenger
application." The change arriving in an update to Facebook applications
for iPhones and Android-fueled mobile is beginning in "a handful" of
nations in Europe.
A
messenger was touted as a speedier and predominant tool for chats. The switch
also lets Facebook focus building assets on sharpening one app as opposed to
partitioning assets between two. Some questioned the insight of doing Facebook
clients switch between applications when needing to captivate companions in
talks. Zuckerberg in February cut a $19 billion-arrangement to take over free
mobile messaging service Whatsapp, saying it is really worth a great deal more.
