Information Technology News in Pakistan: - Officials of the Ministry of Telecommunications
and Information Technology of Afghanistan said 4G internet service will begin
in the near future.
The officials also said that about 90 percent
of Afghans now have access to mobile services, while 50 percent have Internet
access, the Afghan News Agency Khaama Press reported.
Amirzai Sangin, Minister of Telecommunications
and Information Technology of Afghanistan, said that the government's revenue
from telecommunications was approximately $ 1.3 billion over the last ten
years.
Sangin further added that about 140,000 people
are employed in the telecommunications sector across the country.
Growth in the telecommunications sector is one
of the main achievements of the government of Afghanistan during the last ten
years, which facilitated the Afghan people to have access to certain modern
services.
The Afghans are now able to have direct access
to the banking system and can even buy airline tickets through their mobile
phones.
