Facebook has announced a new mobile app called paper that
could see the social network control a substantial part of the digital news
market.
The app will launch on February 3 for the iPhone in the U.S.
and promises a " distraction-free layout " by pulling in new stories
from various media publications - both the established and the " emerging
".

(including sports, food, science and photography) curating, while also the
users customize their own feed. Traditional updates and photos from the friends
of the users will also be available in the app, but they will be kept separate
from the news.
In terms of visual style and navigation, paper is very
similar to the curated news app Flip board. Users' to navigate through paper
with a series of swipes; to extend from left to right to reflect through
stories, and drag up or down or out content.
Users can also tilt their phone, pan through panoramic
photos while small, context- rich 'cards' are used to compress stories. This
latter concept is becoming more common online, with both Twitter and Google now
with these little packets of information online break the “firehouse “of
information.
Paper is the first major step in Facebook’s ambitions,
"new and appealing types of mobile experience” to create in 2014, and some
commentators believe that the app even displace Facebook current offer.
Paper does not offer quite as many features as the
standalone version of Facebook, but many other apps have users by providing
them won a single service as easy as possible. Not always transfer complexes
navigation well from the PC to mobile and paper sees a simplified approach to
Facebook, which many could offer to address.
