Students
of Telecom Engineering Department, the Military College of Signals visited
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA ) Headquarters. Chairman PTA, Dr.
Syed Ismail Shah and senior officers of PTA
were present on this occasion .
During
the visit, Chairman PTA briefed the participants about the work and role of
PTA. He talked about the latest developments in the telecom industry, in
particular the recent 3G/4G spectrum auction. Chairman PTA said that as
reflected from the telecom indicators, growth in the telecom sector is enormously
in recent years. Also, the education sector is also seeing tremendous growth in
terms of adding an increase in the number of educational and professional
institutions, development of teachers and enrollment of students, while the
growth rate is not proportional to the procurement of IT & Telecoms in
Pakistan.
The
chairman said that PTA is always an academic organization has been friendly and
we love the greatest respect and esteem of the academic world in our hearts. He
said that PTA has worked to stimulate research activities in the telecom
sector. PTA has taken initiatives to strengthen links with educational
institutions to establish the promotion of telecom research. The research on
future regulatory issues and challenges, and the transfer of new technologies
is probably the regulator and assist.
On
this occasion, Chairman PTA presented souvenirs to the visiting lecturers from
the Military College of Signals Col (RTD) and Zameer Bhatti's Course of
Military College of Signals Dr. Adil.
